Paternity and Unmarried Parents

 
"Paternity" refers to legally establishing who the father of a child is when the parents are not married to each other.  There are formal  steps that one must take to do this.  Also, when the parents are not married to each other, there are special legal procedures about custody, visitation, and child support.
