Multicultural Immigrant Coalition Against Violence (MICAV)

 

The Multicultural Immigrant Coalition Against Violence (MICAV) is a group of domestic and sexual violence agencies, social service organizations, and immigrant service providers that together develop, promote, and enhance prevention and intervention initiatives.

MICAV is culturally diverse and member driven.  It values and nurtures people from all backgrounds.

MICAV's Goals

  • To help immigrant and refugee communities access efficient and appropropriate domestic and sexual violence services.
  • To provide domestic and sexual violence immigrant service providers with training to become more effective resources for their clients and other organizations.
  • To advocate for policies at the federal, state, and local levels to increase the rights and safety of immigrant survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
  • MICAV’s Vision

  • To increase immigrants’ access to efficient, culturally and linguistically appropriate domestic and sexual violence services.
  • To work with service providers to increase resources for their clients and other organizations
  • To educate and support domestic violence, sexual violence, and immigrant service providers
