How Do You Apply for EA Shelter?

DHCD’s EA workers are located in local DTA offices. Go to your local DTA office and fill out an application. You have the right to fill out an application and to get a written response approving or denying it. If DHCD refuses to provide shelter to a family that requests it, it must give the family a written notice of denial and notice of the family's right to appeal.¹⁶ For more information, see the section in this chapter called How Do You Challenge a Denial of Assistance.
