Statement of Intention for Individuals Filing Under Chapter 7 page 2

Produced by Attorney Mariah Jennings-Rampsi for MassLegalHelp
Created August 2016

Earlier, you put Part 2 of the Statement of Intention aside. Now that you have finished Schedule G, it is time to go back to this form.

Make sure you have finished Schedule G before you fill out Part 2 of this form.

Part 2 List your unexpired personal property leases

personal property lease description

If you are renting any property like a car, put the lease in Part 2. Do not put real estate leases on this form.

Under “Lessor’s Name” put the name of the person or company who is leasing the property to you.

Put the description of the property, like “2015 Kia Sorrento.”

  • If you want to keep leasing the property you must keep making payments. Check “Yes.” to say “the lease will be assumed.”
    • The Lessor has a choice, they do not have to let you assume the lease. But if you are up to date on your payments or you can get up to date quickly usually, they will let you assume the lease.
  • If you do not want to keep making payments, or you cannot get caught up, under Will the lease be assumed? check “No.” You will not be able to keep the property.

Sign and date the form Use today’s date. It does not need to be the date you actually file your bankruptcy.

Filing without a lawyer

  • Bankruptcy is complicated. Filing without a lawyer is risky.
  • You can lose property and money. You can go to jail if you do not tell the truth.
