Try to work out a budget that details your income and expenses.

After you know exactly where your money is going, you can create a new budget.  To create a new budget, figure out the things you must spend money on. For example: your rent or mortgage, heat/utilities, and a certain amount of food each month. See Which debts should I pay first?

Your public library has information on how to draw up a sound budget. Many community groups offer counseling programs. You can also find a community organization to help you prepare a budget.
