Bills and debt

Created May, 2020

New laws, regulations and policies can help you pay your bills if you are having trouble because of Covid-19.

You can get a free copy of your credit report every week until May 2021.   See How can I get a copy of my credit report?

The new rules also protect people from scams like the ones that sell you fake Covid-19 tests or vaccines.

If you see unreasonably high prices for items like hand sanitizer, face masks or plastic gloves during this public health emergency, file a complaint online with the Attorney General's Office.

Most creditors and debt collectors cannot take, or threaten to take, your stimulus payment. But the Department of Revenue can take your money.
