Grievances

Produced by Massachusetts Law Reform Institute
Reviewed January 2022

A grievance procedure is a way to resolve disputes between tenants in public housing and a housing authority. It is important to know how to file a grievance and what your rights, as a tenant in public housing, are.

To learn more, read questions and answers about the grievance process. All of these questions are also available in a booklet that includes legal citations. You can also download the booklet, Using Your Public Housing Grievance Process as a PDF file. You can also download the booklet in Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, and Haitian Creole.
