You can send documents to DTA in one of four ways:
- DTA Connect. You can upload and send your documents through DTA Connect. They go straight into your DTA case record. This is the fastest way to get DTA proofs! See What is My Account Page? Can I get information online?
- FAX documents to DTA at 617-887-8765.
- MAIL documents to:

- Hand-deliver documents to any local DTA office.
- You have a right to drop off documents at any DTA office. 106 C.M.R. § 361.650. If you need urgent help or need to meet a deadline – you have a right to wait and meet with a worker who should review your documents with you.
- DTA has document scanners in each local office. These are like fax machines where you can scan and ship your documents directly to your case record. This is quick and easy. You keep your original documents, and DTA should give you a receipt showing the date and time the documents were scanned. If you need urgent help you have a right to wait to meet with a worker and have your documents looked at in person.
- DTA has special pre-stamped envelopes with the DTA Document Center address. Ask for one to send future documents by mail.
- Don’t mail in original documents. DTA shreds all documents except for “permanent” documents such as birth certificates. If you do mail in original documents, like pay stubs, you should include a note asking DTA to return them to you.
- Keep track of the date and proof that you sent DTA the documents in case documents get lost.
- Write on each page of the documents your name and your DTA “Agency ID” (if you know it) or the last 4 digits of your SSN. That will help the EDMC match the documents with your SNAP file.
- If you are faxing a double-sided document, don’t forget to fax both sides! Photos or documents printed on grey or color paper do not fax clearly-send these documents in through DTA Connect.
