The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) ended on May 31, 2024. ACP helped people pay for:

  • Internet service, and
  • A laptop, tablet, or desktop computer.

How it worked:

With ACP, an internet company gave you a monthly discount on your internet bill. The federal government then gave the internet company the money to cover the costs of the discount.

How do I get ACP?

You cannot get ACP any longer. On February 8, 2024, the federal government stopped accepting applications and enrolling people in ACP. The program ended on May 31, 2024.

Did ACP end?

Yes. The federal government ended ACP when the funds ran out. The program ended on May 31, 2024.

Without ACP, can I get any help with internet costs?

Some internet companies offer free or low-cost internet plans.

What are my rights?
  • If you received ACP, you were able to end or change plans or services without any penalty when ACP ended. An internet company cannot charge you any early termination fees if you ended a service contract for a plan that you used ACP with.
  • If you received ACP, the internet company was not able to stop your service for at least 90 days after the bill payment due date because you did not pay. If your account was in delinquent status after your bill due date, the internet company could have moved you to a lower cost plan while you received ACP.
  • Internet companies cannot make false or misleading statements about your service or withhold any information so you will purchase a service plan or device.
Can I still get help with ACP?

Yes. If you have questions about the end of ACP, call or email the ACP Support Center.
